- Manchester Utd in Disater Recovery
MCW
Group Ltd, one of the leading IT and Communications companies
in the North West hosted an IT Disaster Recovery event on
7th June 2007 at the famous Manchester United Football stadium,
Old Trafford.
Research shows that even the most thorough business continuity
plan is no substitute for an equally thorough disaster recovery
plan. Many Businesses in today’s society are not effectively
prepared for any type of disaster and in the event of such
disaster most important data held on the company’s network
would be lost. No enterprise IT infrastructure is immune from
the many disasters - disk crashes, power failures, human error,
and natural disasters - that will inevitably stop the flow
of data. When that time comes, IT will be on the hook for
dusting off the disaster recovery plan and restoring the valuable
data that had been created since the last back up.
MCW is fully aware of the importance of Information systems
in today’s busy commercial environments and in hosting
this event demonstrated the effective ways in which to prevent
a Disaster happening with loosing all the valuable data which
is entered onto computers systems each and every day.
Mr Kevin Williams, the MCW Technical Services Director, who
ran the event, comented “MCW have always tried to offer
the best guidance, advice and assistance to our customers
to ensure a maximum return from the computer and communications
systems, which are vital in today business environment.”
Williams goes on to say “I feel it is fair to say that
not many companies would be able to operate effectively without
all the information and systems operating effectively.”
In addition to the presentation and demonstrations, there
was also an opportunity to attend a tour of the well known
football stadium, Old Trafford which has hosted many famous
events over the years.
