Who Should Attend: This course is suitable for users who would like to understand more about email and the internet and/or are studying for the ECDL qualification. This is Module 7 of 7

Pre-Requisites: The delegate need not have any prior knowledge of email or the internet.

Course Length: One Day

Exam Information: The exam is paper based and the exam paper is marked by a qualified instructor. The pass is 75%. The exam will be taken at the end of the course.

Delegates will learn:

  • Networks
  • How to browse the Internet
  • How to use Electronic mail

Networks

  • Identify the main differences between the Internet and the Intranet
  • Know what LAN and WAN stand for identify the parts of a network
  • Explain how a computer is connected to a network

Browse the Internet

  • Know how to log onto the Internet
  • Accomplish basic Web search
  • Use different search engines
  • Apply bookmarks to search results
  • Be able to print web pages

How to use Electronic mail

  • Identify the need for electronic mail
  • Log on to an Email system (security)
  • Create and send messages
  • Read and File incoming messages
  • Reply to messages
  • Forward messages to other users
  • Create messages with attachments
  • File attachments from incoming messages
  • Create folders  within electronic mail
  • Manage / Organise messages into your own folders
  • Delete unwanted messages
