Who Should Attend:
This course is intended for new-to-product support professionals who will be responsible for installing, customizing, and configuring Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server. The course also addresses the needs of computer system support professionals who are preparing to install and configure Windows 2000 and for those who are on the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Windows 2000 certification track.
Pre-Requisites:
Course 2151, Microsoft Windows 2000 Networking and Operating System Essentials, or equivalent knowledge and skills, including the ability to:
  • Describe the principal features of the Windows 2000 operating system and basics of networking in a Windows 2000 environment.
  • Describe the types of user accounts and the principal security features of a Windows 2000 environment.
  • Identify the tools used to perform various administrative tasks.
  • Describe the features of the common protocols used in the Windows 2000 networking environment.
  • Describe the fundamentals of TCP/IP.
  • Describe the network communication models used in a Windows 2000 network.
  • Differentiate between the various types of network architectures.
  • Describe common physical components used for network communication.
  • Describe the concepts for remote access services and the protocols used for communication with a remote host.
  • Describe the requirements for Internet access and web security.
  • Summarize network support tasks and utilities, and identify the purpose of key Windows 2000 networking utilities.
