Microsoft Office Specialist - Preparation for Exam

What to expect

The examination itself runs within a fully-functional copy of the appropriate Microsoft application. You may use all the features, including help and wizards. It is not a multiple-choice or "question/answer" type of exam

What to Bring

You will need to present the following items at test time:

  • Picture ID: driver's license or passport
  • Your Microsoft Office User Specialist identification number (if you have taken a previous Microsoft Office Specialist certification exam)
  • TC Student ID, if applicable
What Not to Bring

Because examinations run within live Microsoft Office applications, you will not need the following items:

  • Reference books

  • Notes

  • Pencils, pens, or paper

  • Calculator

The day of the exam:

First, you will be asked to complete the candidate information section, which provides the information necessary to complete your certificate.

After confirming your ID, the administrator will seat you at the test computer, log you onto the test system, and open your test module. You will then be ready to begin.

The test will not begin until you click the "Start Test" button.

The exam itself:

Read the test instructions carefully. Once you have started, the instruction box will indicate the question on which you are currently working. (e.g., question 3 of 50)

A typical exam has a time limit of 45-60 minutes. You will not receive credit for tasks that are completed after time expires.

Instructions are displayed in a separate window. You can close the instruction window by clicking on it. You can restore it by clicking the "Instructions" button on the test information bar at the bottom of the screen.

Your score will be based only on the tasks you are asked to complete. Doing anything more or less than the assigned task may cause you to miss the question.

If anything abnormal happens during the exam, or if the application "crashes" by mistake, stop and contact the administrator. The administrator will restart the test from where you left off.

Scoring takes a short time, depending on the examination. You will then be notified on-screen whether you passed or failed the exam.

You may ask the administrator to give you a printed report.

If you complete the exam successfully, your certificate will be delivered within 2-3 weeks.

MSCERT Practice Tests

The popularity of these practice tests is growing by the week, both centres and students are finding them very beneficia.
