Microsoft Office Specialist Course and Exam ScheduleThe exams are task based testing skill sets which represent the more fundamental aspects of using each Microsoft Office Application. Release Dates for Microsoft Office 2003 Specialist Route All MS Office 2003 exams have now been released with the exception of MS Outlook 2003 Comprehensive. The release date for this is 17th October 2005. For anyone pursuing the Master MOS or Master MOS Instructor Route after this date will be encouraged to take this exam rather than the Outlook XP exam. As of 1st July 2002, the whole of the Microsoft Office Specialist, Office 97 certification will be retired . Please note that any certification in MS Office 97 earned before 1st July 2002 will not be invalidated, however, Microsoft are encouraging people to upgrade their skills into a later version of MS Office. If you wish update your certification, there are exams available in Office 2000 or Office XP exams. As of October 2002 the MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) program name was changed to Microsoft Office Specialist.
