Microsoft Certification Framework
The new framework is based around the MCP program which is the industry leader in certification and on the forefront of testing methodology. Our exams and corresponding certifications are developed to validate your mastery of critical competencies as you design and develop or implement and support solutions with Microsoft products and technologies. Computer professionals who become Microsoft Certified Professionals are recognised as experts and are sought after industry-wide.
The new track offers the following certifications: Architect Series Business IT Skills Professional Series Professional Skills Technology Series Core Technical Skills Microsoft Certified Professional Program The program offers eight certifications, based on specific areas of technical expertise: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
MCSEs are qualified to effectively plan, implement,
maintain, and support information systems in a wide range
of computing environments with Microsoft® Windows NT®
Server and the Microsoft BackOffice™ integrated family
of server products. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator MCSA's
are qualified to implement, manage and troubleshoot the ongoing
needs of Microsoft Windows 2000 - based operating environments,
including Windows .Net Server. Microsoft Certified Solution Developer.MCSDs
are qualified to design and develop custom business solutions
with Microsoft development tools, technologies, and platforms,
including Microsoft Office and Microsoft BackOffice. Microsoft Certified Solution Developer .NETMCSD.Net's
are qualified to design and develop leading-edge enterprise
solutions with Microsoft development tools, technologies,
platforms and the Microsoft .Net Framework. Microsoft Certified Application Developer MCAD's
demonstrate in-depth knowledge of their developer skills.
This is a new qualification from Microsoft, with the exams
currently under development. Microsoft Certified Database Administrator MCDBA's
demonstrate in-depth knowledge of how to implement and administer
Microsoft SQL Server™ databases. The certification is
appropriate for individuals who derive physical database designs,
develop logical data models, create physical databases, create
data services by using Transact-SQL, manage and maintain databases,
configure and manage security, monitor and optimize databases,
and install and configure SQL Server. Microsoft Certified Product Specialist MCPSs demonstrate in-depth knowledge of at least one Microsoft operating system. Candidates may pass additional Microsoft certification exams to further qualify their skills with Microsoft BackOffice products, development tools, or desktop applications. Microsoft Certified Trainer MCTs are instructionally and technically qualified by Microsoft to deliver Microsoft Official Curriculum through Microsoft Solution Provider Authorised Technical Education Centers (ATECs) and Authorised Academic Training Program institutions (AATPs). Who should become a Microsoft Certified Professional? Anyone who must demonstrate technical expertise with Microsoft products should consider the program, including systems engineers, professional developers, support technicians, system and network administrators, consultants, and trainers. What are the benefits of becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional? The Microsoft Certified Professional program offers a number of immediate and long-term benefits, including the following: Recognition. Microsoft Certified Professionals are instantly recognised as experts with the technical knowledge and skills needed to design and develop or implement and support solutions with Microsoft products. Microsoft helps build this recognition by promoting the expertise of Microsoft Certified Professionals within the industry and to customers and potential clients. Access to technical information. Microsoft Certified Professionals gain access to technical information directly from Microsoft. Depending on the certification, Microsoft Certified Professionals also receive a prepaid trial membership to the Microsoft TechNet Technical Information Network, or a discount for the Microsoft Developer Network; are entitled to free incidents with Microsoft Product Support Services; and are eligible to participate in the Microsoft Beta Evaluation program. Global community. Microsoft Certified Professionals join a worldwide community of technical professionals who have validated their expertise with Microsoft products. Microsoft Certified Professionals are brought together through a dedicated forum on MSNO, The Microsoft Network; receive a free subscription to Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine, a career and professional development magazine created especially for Microsoft Certified Professionals; and, depending on their certification, are eligible to join the Network Professional Association, a worldwide association of computer professionals. |
