What is a Company’s
Most Important Asset?
If you ask this question to a number of different companies,
you may get a number of different answers but how many
will answer, The Employees?
A recent survey by the Chartered Management Institute
(CMI) shows that managers are aiming to focus inwards
on their employees during the coming year. The CMI says
that companies who invest in the development of staff
through training have a better chance of taking advantage
of the economic upturn.
A recent government-commissioned review said “Managers
depend on their people to deliver the strategy and so
should be doing everything they can to inspire, motivate
and support them”.
Whilst the excuses of time and money can be used to
delay training, companies should ask themselves do they
want to prevent the “brain drain” when the
job market improves and keep their most valuable asset
to help bring the company out of the difficult economic
climate.
Training is a good staff motivator and is the way forward!
